Business Idea and job opportunities

Here's an idea: Fox Hollow, which used to be a spa has become a working farm.

Their Market garden is a ten acre market garden located in beautiful northern Kentucky. It is managed using biodynamic, organic, and permaculture methods and practices; though we are not currently certified. The programs mission is to provide the highest quality produce to the community and to educate and inspire the interns, wwoofers, and volunteers who help make it all possible. The garden has expanded to 10+ acres this year in order to grow enough food for our local community, chickens, bunnies, and more.

They are seeking  interns, volunteers, and wwoofers who want to join in the fun for the 2011 market garden season. Each position plays a different role in the garden, with varying degrees of responsibility and time commitment. It will be all hands on deck this year and we're looking forward to seeing you in the garden! If you are interested in getting more information about the program, please contact us at foxhollowmarketgarden@gmail.com or you can reach us by phone at 502-243-4800.

They are also looking for volunteers to come out to the farm to help with specific projects and/or weekly harvesting.  Be prepared to get dirty, sweaty, and sore - harvesting is hard work!  You'll leave at the end of the day with a bag of veggies and a taste for more.  Please contact us at foxhollowmarketgarden@gmail.com to sign up for our volunteer mailing list.

And are definitely interested in Wwoofers (World Wide Workers On Organic Farms) to come to us from all over the world and work 30-40 hours each week in exchange for room and board.  There is a two week minimum stay for wwoofers who are usually housed at the Veggie Shack or the Farm Campsite.  If you are interested in wwoofing you'll need to register to WWOOF here: http://www.wwoof.org/  Learn more about Foxhollow Wwoofing.

Their interns live on the farm and are an integral part of the Foxhollow Farming Community. Interns work a 40-60 hour week from April 1 to November 1 each season.  They work side by side with the head gardener and are involved in all aspects of the market garden operation including seed starting and saving, preparing and using the biodynamic sprays, planting, harvesting, participation in CRAFT and working with customers at the farmer's markets and Foxhollow Farm Store.  Interested?  Find out more and apply for our Internship Opportunities.
